My friend is American, wants to divorce wife who is in Bahrain. She is not American. How does he do this?

My friend is American and in the military. He is in the states. He is married to a woman who is in Bahrain. She does not have American Citizenship. They have a child together. He wants to file for a divorce. How should he do this without having to actually go to Bahrain.
